No Changes in Schemes Implemented by Congress – DCM Parameshwar
Mangaluru: After becoming the Deputy Chief Minister Dr G Parameshwar in his maiden visit to Mangaluru interacted with the mediapersons at the Circuit House here on August 10.
Addressing the mediapersons Dr Parameshwar said, “In the five years of Congress tenure we had implemented many schemes which will now continue. There will be no changes on Anna Bhagya, Shaadi Bhagya or Ksheera Bhagya and the schemes will continue. There is some misunderstanding that we have reduced funds for such schemes which is not true.”
Dr Parameshwar further said, “When BJP was in power there was corruption and the development was neglected. To avoid the BJP coming to power again in Karnataka we formed the Coalition government so that we can make our state progressive. We have waived farmers loan but PM Narendra Modi do not want to solve the problem of the farmers. In 2017-18 a total of 12500 farmers committed suicide in the country. The Karnataka State government does not want the farmers families to suffer so waived Rs 8500 crore loan made by farmers. Why PM Modi cannot waive the farmers loan?” Dr Parameshwar questioned.
When asked about the statement by MLC Boje Gowda about the defeat of Congress in Dakshina Kannada, Dr Parameshwar said, “It is his opinion, why should we accept it? We are analysing the reasons for our defeat as we had lost in 102 constituencies.”
When asked about the scuffle between youth congress leaders during the Quit India Movement programme in Town Hall, Dr Parameshwar said, “It is an internal issue which will be solved.”
Responding to the journalist about denying permission to hold the rituals of Shiroor Swamiji, Dr Parameshwar said, “It is a special case. Shiroor Swamiji case is under investigation and the police have taken all the measures. The Police have collected evidences which are related yo the case. When the case is under investigation I cannot comment further.”
Former ministers Ramanath Rai and Pramod Madhwaraj, former MLA J R Lobo and others were also present.
