No Cut in Dasara Holidays – Minister Khader

Mangaluru: “The Dasara Holidays will remain the same as earlier. I have discussed this matter with the DC, CEO and the DDPI and finalized the Dasara Holidays in Dakshina Kannada. The Dasara Holidays will not be cut and will remain same as in the previous years for the students”, said District minister in-charge U T Khader in a press meet held at the Circuit House here on September 27.

Addressing the mediapersons U T Khader said, “Instead of repairing the Bridge at Mularpatna, a new bridge will be constructed at a cost of Rs 50 crore and the state government has sanctioned Rs 50 crore for the same. The old Bridge will be used until a New Bridge will be constructed at Gurupur for which the NHAI will sanction Rs 35 crore.”

U T Khader further said, “The Mangaluru – Moodbidri road is a vital road, the National Highway authority will construct the new bridge in Gurupur at a cost of Rs 35 crore. After Mangaluru, Ullal has been developed, from Talapadi to Mudipu has been developed with all the basic facilities. Now the Karnataka Urban Water Supply board has agreed to spend Rs 198 crore for the drinking water project which will be discussed in the assembly meeting for approval. I have visited Tulu Bhavan for which we have already spent Rs 4.5 crore and the remaining work will be completed to make the Tulu Bhavan a model in the state. The necessary funds will be sanctioned,” said Khader.

U T Khader also said, “The government has assured to solve the sand problem by October 15. People of DK should get sand at a cheaper price. If we solve the sand problem in Kerala we can avoid facing the sand crisis in DK. The officials should take measures to provide the sand at cheaper prices. In Mangaluru the Revenue Minister and higher revenue officers will hold a meeting to find a solution for the conversion and registration of the land.”
