No Nudisiri-Virasat at Alva’s this Year- Funds will be Donated to Flood Victims
Mangaluru : The Alva’s Education Foundation, Moodbidri, has decided not to hold the annual Alva’s Nudisiri-Virasat events, scheduled for November 15 to 17, according to Foundation Chairman M. Mohan Alva, who speaking to media had said the events had been put off in view of floods the State. The foundation had decided to celebrate both the events together from this year and had commenced preparations for it. However, when the fellow brethren were in dire straits following the floods, the foundation felt that the celebrations would have no meaning in such a situation.
Hence, the events have been put off to 2020, and in meanwhile, the foundation has decided to extend financial assistance to the flood-affected people, added Mohan Alva. “We were moved by the loss of human lives and property in the recent devastation due to floods. Thousands of people are homeless too. At this juncture, holding Nudisiri and Virasat events are meaningless and so we have decided to postpone it to 2020” said Mohan Alva.
The Alva’s Education Foundation has been organizing the mega event ‘Nudisiri’, which is a literary and cultural extravaganza, featuring the rich heritage of Kannada from the past 15 years.
