Not Good Times for Vijay Mallya at Oval Cricket Stadium where Fans Booed ‘Mallya Chor Hai’?

Not Good Times for “King of Good Times” Liquor Barron Vijay Mallya when he watched the Cricket Match between India and Australia at Oval Cricket Stadium_ London, where Fans Booed ‘Mallya Chor Hai’? (Mallya is a Thief) during and after the game, for a guy who was once called ‘The King of Good Times’ in India, but he brought bad times to many people in India, and then flew off to Even Better Times, and now happily enjoying life in London-England.

Mangaluru : Looks like Vijay Mallya, like so many other Indians, is a die-hard cricket fan. But one can only wonder which team he was supporting in Sunday’s high-voltage cricket match — it couldn’t possibly be India, right? Because, let’s face it, why would he support the country he is accused of looting crores of rupees from? Why would he support a country that he conveniently fled, ooops, ‘exited’, right after these acrid charges came flying at him? Why would he support a country where so many have so few nice things to say about him? So, clearly, Mallya must have been supporting Australia?

But now, since extradition is already knocking at Mallya’s London door and He can only stall for so long, we can also understand His sudden passion for outdoor sports under cloud and sun. Apparently, sources reveal that Mallya proudly told reporters at the Oval that he was there to watch the match ‘in person’. For that reason alone, let’s not blame him — it is highly likely that he will watch the next World Cup matches from jail. It’s, okay that he enjoyed his Good Times, even a fragment thereof. And let’s forgive him his one day out at the Oval Cricket stadium on Sunday. For the truth is, a cell in the homeland is calling Him and the clock is only ticking. Few weeks ago during the Lok Sabha elections we heard members of Congress party chanting “Chowkidhar Chor Hai’, against Narendra Modi, now we have Indian Cricket fans chanting “Vijaya Mallya Chor Hai’ against former Indian MP and liquor Barron?

But what a shame for once a billionaire and a Man of Good times, Liquor Barron Vijay Mallya, who is facing extradition proceedings in the UK, was on Sunday greeted with ‘Vijay Mallya Chor Hai’ chants outside The Oval cricket stadium in London as he came out after watching India’s World Cup clash against Australia. The incident happened post the India vs Australia match in London. Sources reveal that as Vijay Mallya came out of the cricket stadium after watching India vs Australia match along with his mother, the crowd surrounded the liquor baron and chanted ‘Vijay Mallya chor hai’. ‘Chor, chor [thief, thief]’ was among the chants that could be heard from the crowds. “Chor gaya chor (there goes a thief) and chor, chor (thief, thief),” were among the chants.

When he was asked how he would respond to the ‘Vijay Mallya chor hai’ and ‘chor chor’ chants by the crowd, he said, “I am just making sure my mother does not get hurt.” It is learnt that speaking to a reporter Vijay Mallya said, “What do you do if you get caught in the mayhem with your old mother.” The video of the incident showed someone from the crowd asking him to “be a man and apologize to the country”, Vijay Mallya responded with “yes, please do.”. This was not the first time Vijay Mallya was heckled by cricket fans whenever he came to watch a cricket match. In January 2017, Mallya was greeted with ‘chor, chor’ (thief, thief) as he arrived to watch the India vs South Africa Champions Trophy match at The Oval cricket ground.

Earlier in the day, Vijay Mallya’s son, Siddharth, posted a photo on his Instagram page where he is seen with his father with the stadium in the background. Vijay Mallya, the 61-year-old chief of the now-defunct Kingfisher Airlines, has been living in self-imposed exile in Britain since last year and is facing extradition proceedings in the UK courts.

As per reports, Vijay Mallya left India on March 2, 2016, after defaulting on loans amounting to Rs 9,000 crore. He has repeatedly denied fleeing the country, saying he is ready to pay back the money he owed to the Indian banks. India had in 2017 filed for Mallya’s extradition, which he contested. He is out on bail now, and enjoying life as always in “GOOD TIMES” even though he is in BAD TIMES?
