Novena for Annual Feast of Kalmadi Church begins
Udupi: The nine days of novena services for the preparation of the Annual Feast of Our Lady of Velankani, Stella Maris Church, Kalmadi began on Tuesday, August 6.
The Novena service was inaugurated by Fr Ronald Serrao Rector of St Joseph Seminary Mangaluru by hoisting the Shrine flag. A Large number of Devotees of Mother Velankani participated in the celebration of the Eucharist as well as the first day of Novena.
Fr Alban D’Souza Parish Priest of the Church, Fr Valerian Mendonca Dean of Udupi Deanery, Convener of the feast committee Fr Praveen Montiero, Guest priest Fr Charles, Sanjay Andrade vice president, Shobha Mendonca Secretary of Parish Pastoral council and Francis Fernandes convener of 18 commission were present.
The Annual Feast of Our Lady Of Vailankanni will be celebrated on Thursday, 15 August 2019 with the Solemn Eucharistic Celebration at 4:00 pm. Dr Gerald Isaac Lobo, Bishop of Udupi will preside over the Holy Eucharist.
On Wednesday, 14 August 2019 the Car Procession of Our Lady of Vailankanni will be flagged off by Ivan D’Souza, MLC & Former Parliamentary Secretary at 2:45 pm from Adi Udupi Junction. Thereafter the Solemn Eucharistic Celebration at 4:00 pm will be presided by Dr Peter Paul Saldanha, Bishop of Mangaluru.
