New Delhi, Nov 17 (IANS) Fans of James Bond are in for a treat in India! The ‘Bond is GREAT’ campaign in the country is giving people a chance to experience Britain in Bond style.
Scheduled to release in India on Friday, the 24th James Bond adventure “Spectre” will show some iconic locations that make Britain a great spot to visit.
In association with Sony Pictures Entertainment and Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Studios, VisitBritain started the global film tourism campaign ‘Bond is GREAT’ in more than 60 countries, encouraging Bond fans and travel enthusiasts to choose Britain – the home of Bond – for their next holiday, said a statement.
“We know that the link between tourism and film is a potent one. Recent films have demonstrated that they deliver a real increase in visitor numbers with just under half of our potential visitors to Britain wanting to visit places they have seen featured in films or TV so we are doing everything we can to capitalise on this ‘set-jetting’ phenomenon.
“That’s why we are working hard to encourage and inspire more people to holiday in Britain through our ‘Bond is GREAT Britain’ campaign, leading to a measurable increase in international visitor numbers and visitor spend across the nations and regions of Britain,” said Sally Balcombe, CEO, VisitBritain.
As part of the campaign, 007 fans from India and around the world will also stand a chance to win a ‘Bond Lifestyle’ weekend through an online competition – The Sweepstake.
By sharing their dream of the Bond lifestyle adventure in Britain, one winner could get a chance to live the Bond lifestyle, including a chauffeur driven Aston Martin, private visit to Madame Tussauds and a stay at one of the exclusive Radisson Blu Edwardian Hotels, a la the fictional spy.
Also, in India, exclusive four-city “Spectre” premiers and networking dinners will be hosted by the British High Commission, UKTI, VisitBritain and British Council. These will happen across New Delhi, Bengaluru, Kolkata and Chennai on Thursday.
The event will highlight why Britain is great for business, tourism and education.
