Under the leadership of the President of the Netravati Rakshana Samyukta Samiti Vijay Kumar Shetty, we have organised prayers in temples, Mosques and Churches in the entire district. Because God is Supreme and he will surely bless us and give a positive mind to the Judge for a positive judgement on the Netravati river diversion project.”
Nalin also said, “The case which was in the Chennai court is now moved to the Delhi court, we are sure that the Delhi court and God will surely do justice to the people of Dakshina Kannada. This is the first step, to fight against the government because we do not want to go against the government, we can at least pray to God to give a clear mind to our chief minister and the ministers from our district to withdraw the project.”
President of NRSS Vijay Kumar Shetty speaking to the mediapersons said that the case was moved to the National Green Tribunal (Principal Bench, New Delhi). The case was in the Chennai Green tribunal but we have succeeded in moving the case to Delhi because we are sure of getting justice from the Delhi court.
He further said that this year there is very less rain because of the trees being felled in large numbers in the Western Ghats for the Netravati River diversion project. If we allow the project to go continue, the next generation will be in trouble. For the sake of our next generation, we all should join hands to stop the Netravati river diversion project. On September 21, there is a hearing in the Delhi court about the Netravati river diversion project. To get a positive judgement to drop the Netravati river diversion project we have held prayers at various Temples, Mosques and Churches on September 14. God will surely hear our prayers and we will get a positive judgement.

Prayers? Seriously? In other words, these elected leaders have no vision or plan to harvest water in one of the highest rainfall regions. How long these funny characters are going to be lazy and transfer responsibility to imaginary gods?
