Oceanic crowd witnesses Pramod Madhwaraj’s Janashirvad Samavesh in Udupi

Udupi: As preparations for Pramod Madhwaraj’s filing the nomination, Udupi and Brahmavar Block Congress committee organized Janashirvad Samavesh at the Royal Garden Kalsanka here on April 22.

The programme began with Vande Mataram, Janardhan Thonse Udupi district Congress president welcomed the gathering. Nithyananda Shetty president Brahmavara Block Congress delivered the keynote address.

Former state urban development minister and Kaup MLA Vinay Kumar Sorake inaugurated the Janaashirvad Samavesh by lighting the lamp.

Addressing the gathering Vinay Kumar Sorake said that the people of Udupi elected Pramod Madhwaraj as MLA in 2013. In his five years of tenure, he has done tremendous changes in Udupi. He has won the hearts of the people of Udupi by doing a lot of development work in his constituency.

Pramod Madhwaraj has worked efficiently as an MLA and minister in the state. After becoming the sports minister, he has given a new shape to his ministry. He announced the first sports policy for the state. To encourage the youth he has distributed sports kits across the state. As an MLA of Udupi, he has made his constituency a model for the state, he said.

Criticising MP Shobha Karandlaje Sorake said that the MP is missing from the last 4 years in her own constituency. She is only fit to criticize the Congress government but has done nothing in her constituency. While campaigning for the Lok Sabha elections, Modi had assured the citizens that if voted to power, the NDA would bring back the black money. Modi had also said that it was possible to deposit Rs 15 lakh in the bank accounts of each citizen after the black money was brought back from abroad. He has failed to fulfill the pre-poll promises.

While the Congress government led by Siddaramaiah given a scam free governance, the BJP broke “world records” in graft in Karnataka. The BJP national president Amith Shah recently accepted that his own BSY is the most corrupt in the country. Sometimes God also puts the truth in the BJP leaders mouth. The previous BJP government in Karnataka had broken record in corruption and now they come here and talk about corruption pointing their finger at us, he added.

Speaking on the occasion Pramod said that it was an opportunity for him to serve the people of Udupi. “Like a beggar, I went to CM Siddaramaiah on several times and brought funds for the development of Udupi constituency. Now it is in your hands to decide. Give me another chance to complete the work”, he told the gathering.

Every work that was promised by him could not be completed. He reassured that he is satisfied to say that most of the problems in the constituency could be solved. Ï have plans to get multi village water supply schemes for Chantharu and THenkanidiyoor and it will be done if another chance is given to me this time”, he said.

Many BJP and JD(S) leaders including social activist Louis Lobo Kalmady and others joined the Congress party on the occasion. Pramod Madhwaraj handed over the party flag to the newly joined members and welcomed them to the party.

Chairman SCDCC Bank Dr M N Rajendra Kumar, MLC Prathap Chandra Shetty, AICC member Amrith Shenoy, KPCC members Veronica Cornelio, Dr Deviprasad Shetty, Jayashree Krishnaraj, Congress leaders Muniyal Uday Kumar Shetty, Prakyath Shetty, Christan D’Almeida, Vishwas Ameen and others were present.

“program began with vande mataram…” – Report.

This perfectly captures the double standards of Congress. One of the key ‘vote banks’ supporting Congress won’t even sing this song. Who are they fooling?
