Offering LS Seat to JD(S) Congress insulted Indira Gandhi’s Political Rebirth Constituency – Shobha Karandlaje
Udupi: “Offering the ticket of Chikkamagaluru Lok Sabha constituency which had given political rebirth to former prime minister Indira Gandhi to its coalition partner JD(S) shows the congress parties present situation”, said Udupi-Chikkamagaluru Lok Sabha BJP candidate Shobha Karandlaje in a press meet held at the BJP office here on March 22.
Addressing the mediapersons Shobha said, “The JD(s) has no base in the Udupi-Chikkamagaluru Lok Sabha constituency. In this election, the coalition partners offered the Congress seat to JD(S), and for the first time in history, the Congress symbol will be missing. The JD(S) has no candidates to field in Udupi-Chikkamagaluru. They are planning to field the Congress leaders. Whoever contests, the seat will be won by BJP and the BJP will win at least 22 seats in Karnataka. The BJP will win with a huge margin and Pramod Madhwaraj can do nothing to prevent the BJP from marching towards victory”, she said.
Shobha further said, “In Karnataka state, the Congress-JD(S) coalition government has totally neglected the development. They are all busy fighting for seat sharing in the Lok Sabha Elections. When the government was formed they began to fight for the ministership and now they are fighting to share the seats. The opposition grand alliance “Mahagathbandhan” has failed. The coalition candidate will also lose his seat in Udupi-Chikkamagaluru Constituency”.
Shobha also said, “The party leaders have given me another chance to contest from the Udupi-Chikkamagaluru Lok Sabha Constituency. They have offered me another chance to work in this constituency. In the last 5 years, a lot of development work has been done in the constituency. I will file the nomination as the candidate on March 26 in the presence of Union defense minister Nirmala Seetharaman”, she said.
Udupi District BJP president Mattar Rathankar Hegde, Chikkamagaluru district president Jeevraj, BJP leaders Bharathi Shetty, Kuthyaru Naveen Shetty, Geethanjali Suvarna, Gurme Suresh Shetty and others were present.
