Oman Billawas celebrate Shri Satyanarayana and Sri Narayana Guru Puja
Muscat: Oman Billawas celebrated annual Shri Satyanarayana and Sri Narayana Guru Puja in a grand manner recently at Sri Krishna Temple, Darsait, Muscat. People of all communities participated in the event in large numbers and sought blessings of the Almighty. They offered Bhajan, Kende Vadana, Mahapuja and accepted the Mahaprasadam.
A beautifully created miniature replica of the entrance gopuram of Kudroli Sri Gokarnanatha Temple bearing the image of Sri Narayan Guru was the prime attraction of the occasion. This is part of Oman Billawas’ efforts to bring together the Mangalorean community residing in the Sultanate of Oman and preserve the community’s age-old traditions.
As an organization with social commitment, Oman Billawas has also recently extended its annual scholarship program and provided financial assistance to over one hundred poor students. It has also rendered timely help to the community members during emergencies and in times of adversity.
Oman Billawas plan to organize the Puja and Dandiya dance programme during the Navarathri festival.
