Oman: Kudla Friends, Muscat an outfit comprising of the popular trio Suraj Rebello, Yuvaraj Salian and Srikanth Shetty unfurled Kudla Cup tournament – Season V amidst amazing participation and spirit.
All roads led to the finale of Kudla Cup tournament since its inception in 2011, Kudla Friends, Muscat have conducted sports events and tournaments, prestigiously and successfully, much to the delight of the Mangalorean community and many a sports enthusiast.
Five seasons of various sports events like cricket both for Men and Women, Volleyball, Throw ball, Lagori, Slow cycle race both for Men and Women, Kabaddi and Tug of War both for Men and Women.
Kudla Friends Muscat, in their imitable way sought to enliven, enrich the spirit of togetherness through their maxim “United for Stronger communities”.
They have organized cultural events like Tulu dram “Dada Maleparapundu” of the Lakumi troupe, Kudla Utsav, Tulu program “Tulu Parba” featured music director Guru kiran, followed by a mega comedy show “Bale Telipale” by Prashamsa team and a power packed dance performance by popular DID star Kishore Aman and troupe and a Tulu stage by Devadas Kapikad and the Cha parka team “Paniyere Avandina” apart from the spectacular sports events.
Distinguished Guests:
Many distinguished guests had come from Mangalore to grace the grand occasion of Kudla Cup Season V concluding ceremony. The Trophies and medals to the winners were distributed by the guests,

Ivan D’souza was also the guest of honour, but couldn’t make it for the program, but had sent a Video message which was played during the event, and he too congratulated the Trio and passed his best wishes to all the Mangaloreans.

Anchor: Madhu, a well known face, from Mangalore, compered the finale of the Kudla Cup Season V. Madhu, introduced the guests and conducted the Sports Distribution function.
Kudla Cup Season V – January 2016
Kudla Cup tournaments began on Friday, January 8th, 2016 at the GPDCO cricket ground.
Cricket (Men)
Eleven teams participated in the Kudla cup cricket for men.
Stanley Fernandes, a renowned mangalorean personality inaugurated the cricket match. The final match, the decisive battle was between Muscat Mogaveers and MCCP Oman, and Muscat Mogaveers clinched and lifted the Kudla Cup.

Cricket (Women)
Cricket matches for women were conducted on January 22nd, 2016. In the final match between MCCP, Oman and Muscat Mogaveers. MCCP, Oman clinched and lifted the Kudla Cup.

Throwball
Throwball matches were conducted on January 22nd, 28th and 29th. MCCP, Oman won over Muscat Mogaveers to lift the Kudla Cup.

Sheethala Padival and Nithin Kumar officiated the Throwball matches.
Tug of war (Men)
Tug of war for matches for men was conducted on January 28th and 29th at Muscat Sports club, Wadi kabir.
Muscat Mogaveers won the tournament and MCCP, Oman were the Runners up.
Tug of war (Women)
Tug of war matches for Women was conducted on January 29th at Muscat Sports club, Wadi Kabir.
Bunts Oman won the tournament and Muscat Mogaveers were the Runners up.
For the very first time KABADDI match was organized on Friday January 29, 2016 after the lunch break.
Kabaddi math was inaugurated by Rakesh Malli, President of state amateur kabaddi association.
National Refree Sheethala Padival and Nithin Kumar officiated the Kabaddi match.
Vishwakarma team won the finals while Bearys were declared Runner-up.

It was indeed a great sight to watch the member of teams of different communities, dress color code enthusiastic and spirited spectators and sports enthusiasts.
One could assess the tempo, spirit and the anxious moments written on the players and spectators faces.
Sportsman spirit was numero uno apart from the results which was evident from the initial moment to the final.
Vote of thanks and display of appreciation floral bouquets were presented to esteemed members from the mangalore community.
Mementos were presented to all those who supported unstintingly and helped in the culmination of the events successfully.
