Oman UAE Exchange Wins Oman Digital Transformation Award

Muscat: Oman UAE Exchange, a renowned money transfer, foreign currency exchange and payment solutions brand in the Sultanate of Oman, was recently recognised for its capabilities in the digital space and honoured with the ‘Oman Digital Transformation Award’ during the 2nd Telecom Innovations Oman event held at the Sheraton Oman Hotel in Oman.

The award ceremony was organised under the patronage of H.E. Said bin Hamdoon bin Saif Al Harthy, Under Secretary of Ministry of Transport & Communications, and was supported by Ministry of Transport & Communications (MoTC), Information Technology Authority (ITA), Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA), Knowledge Oasis Muscat (KOM), MADAYN (PEIE), Public Authority for SME Development (Riyada), and many other regional and international bodies. KPMG was the award’s validation partner.

On receiving the award, Boban M.P., Chief Executive Officer of Oman UAE Exchange, said, “We are delighted to win the Oman Digital Transformation Award and thank the jury for recognising our efforts in the digital space which are in line with the future vision of Oman government’s digital transformation drive in the Sultanate. Currently, Oman UAE Exchange operates through 56 branches in the Sultanate and offers its customers a wide range of financial services including cross-border money transfers, domestic transfers, foreign currency exchange, foreign currency buyback, payments solutions like mobile recharge, bKash mobile wallet, self-service kiosks and more.

As part of its digital offerings, Oman UAE Exchange had recently introduced online money transfer through its mobile app and website in Oman. The new service offers customers a secure, swift and hassle-free way to send money anywhere anytime from Oman, at preferential exchange rates. Available on both iOS and Android, customers can avail the online service to send money to India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Philippines, Nepal, Egypt, and the UAE.
