Omni Car Catches Fire at Light House Hill Road
Mangaluru: A Maruti Omni car caught fire in front of the MCC Bank lighthouse Hill Road, here on April 4.
Speaking to mangalorean.com the owner of the car Arif said, “There was a defect in the petrol pipe of the car. On April 3, I had left the car at Mandovi Motors for repair. On April 4, I took delivery of my car and had just driven about 200 meters when I noticed smoke in the car. I stopped the car near MCC bank, Lighthouse hill road and informed the dealer, Mandovi Motors and also the fire service. The technicians from Mandovi Motors as well as the fire tenders immediately reached the spot and doused the fire.”
He further said, “The fire started near the same fuel pipe which was damaged. Fortunately, I was not hurt in the incident since as soon as I heard a sound and saw the smoke I stopped the car and came out of it.”
The car has been damaged and taken back to Mandovi service center.
