On Study Tour to Charmadi Ghat Journalist Haimad Dies of Cardiac Arrest

Mangaluru: Journalist Haimad died of a massive heart attack at Charmadi Ghat here on April 8.

Haimad Hussain (27), a native of Raichur, was working as a Sub-Editor/Reporter at Prajavani.

Speaking to mangalorean.com a Journalist said, “We were on a study to Charmadi Ghat. We all started from the Press club at 6:30 am and reached Charmadi. While climbing the ghat Haimad developed pain in the chest. The guides who accompanied us, stayed back with Haimad. After some rest, Haimad recovered and the guides informed the organizer that Haimad’s condition was stable and the team could proceed further, so we continued further”.

She further said, “After some time the guides called Dinesh Holla and said, Haimad’s condition is not good, we need to take him to the hospital. We all came down and called the Ambulance to take Haimad to the hospital. We rushed him to Beltangady Hospital but the doctors declared him brought dead”.

The entire team is in shock and is on the way back to Mangaluru. Haimad’s body will be shifted to Wenlock Hospital for post mortem.

Health and family welfare minister U T Khader, Deputy commissioner A B Ibrahim and SP Dr Sharanappa visited the mortuary and paid their last respect.
A case has been registered at the Beltangady police station. Police are waiting for the family members to reach Mangaluru for their consent to carry out the post-mortem procedure.

RIP, he was a good man who greeted all with a smile. He died before his time.
