One Arrested in Mumbai Robbery Case, Ruby Worth Rs 5 Crore Seized
Mangaluru: The city crime branch (CCB) police arrested a man who was trying to sell an expensive Ruby at Bikkaranakatta, here on August 10.
The arrested has been identified as K F Yunus (42), a resident from Bikkarnakatta.
According to police, on August 10, The accused Tallat along with Yunus were trying to sell the valuable Ruby pendant in an Alto Car. Getting information the CCB police reached the spot and arrested Yunus while Tallat escaped from the spot. The CCB police have recovered the pendant containing the ruby and other valuables all worth Rs 5 crore and have also seized the Alto car from their possession.
During interrogation, it has been revealed that Yunus along with Tallat Bajal, Likhit Gopal Shetty, Nasir Ahamed Khan Mumbai, Fakir Mohammed alias Sameer Sheikh, Gautham Ananth Kadam, Prateek Alok Moyithi and Sameer alias Hasan Khan had kidnapped a businessman from Mumbai in July and looted his gold ornaments along with the Ruby pendant. In this regard, a case was registered in the Bandra Police station in Mumbai and the police have shared the information with the Mangaluru police.
The accused earlier had tried to sell the Ruby in Hassan. Later on, August 10, while Tallat and Yunus were trying to sell the Ruby, Diamond and gold studded pendant at Bikkarnakatta, the police arrested Yunus.
The CCB police led by Inspector Sunil Nayak, PSI Shyam Sundar and team participated in the operation. The case has been handed over to the Kadri police for further investigation
