One more Arrested in Perdoor Bus Conductor Murder Case
Udupi: The Police on July 24 arrested one more person in connection with the murder of 38-year-old bus conductor of Byramapplli village under the Hiriyadka Police Station limits.
The arrested has been identified as Sachin Naika (24) resident of Alangar, Perdoor. Another accused Rakshak Poojary (19) a resident of Bukkigudde, Kukkehalli was arrested on July 14 and is now in judicial custody.
Rakashak and the victim Prashanth Poojary were good friends for many years. Some months ago Prashanth Poojary helped Rakshak and Sachin to avail a loan of Rs 50000 from a co-operative society and took Rs Rs 20000 from them and did not return the money.
On Thursday, July 11 midnight, Rakashak and Sachin visited conductor Prashanth Poojary’s house. When Prashanth came out of the house there was an argument between them over a financial issue. As the argument turned bitter, Rakashak and Sachin entered the house, locked up Prashanth’s wife and children in another room and attacked Poojary with a sickle.
Even though Prashanth’s wife Vijaya screamed for help and also attempted contacting the neighbours over the phone. An hour later, her relatives reached her house and saw Poojary’s body lying in a pool of blood.
The accused had left behind their motorcycle as it did not start due to technical problems.
Accused Sachin Naika was produced before the court and remanded to Police custody till July 27
