Online Prostitution Racket Busted, CCB police Arrest Two Pimps, 1 Customer
Mangaluru: The CCB police busted an online sex racket by raiding a hotel in Bendurwell and arrested three men including two pimps and rescued 2 women on January 11.
According to the police, after receiving credible information about the online prostitution racket going on through the website Locanto, the CCB police got into action and raided Hotel Kumar International in Bendurwell.
Names and contact numbers of girls were being collected through the website Locanto. Once the names were registered, they were being sent to their customers. The girls were then informed to meet at certain spots from where they were picked up and brought to Hotel Kumar International.
The police have arrested a customer who was in the act and two pimps. Police have also rescued two women and seized cash of Rs 6700, a Tata Safari, an Alto car and 8 mobiles all worth Rs 8,97,700/- from their possession.
The arrested have been identified as Preetam (30), a native of Gandhi Nagar Manjeshwar, Sunil (22) from Thenka Gurupur and Nagaraj (28), a native of Hanagal Haveri.
The CCB police have registered a case and investigation is on.
