‘Our Aim is to Help the Needy & Less-Fortunate’- Mrs & Miss Mangaluru Winners
Mangaluru: The Rego Events Private Limited had organized ‘EnviGreen Miss and Mrs. Mangaluru 2018’ at the City Beach on December 23. The programme was inaugurated by former MLA Abhaychandra Jain by lighting the traditional lamp along with L Goel- Chairman Organ Donation India Foundation & Chief Promoter of Pandit Health Resort & Spa, Amit Kumar – DC CISF; Srinivas- Member Censor Board; S K Chaturvedi- Industrialist; and Dr. Ramesha- President Rotary Club Moodbidri were present among others.
The uniqueness of this Beauty Pageant was that all the contestants prior to the finals of the Pageant had visited many orphanages in and around Mangaluru, and mainly a Valpadi charity program was held at Anegudde Aided higher primary school wherein Rego Events team distributed blankets, school bags, drawing kits etc. to 110 students of the school and grocery distribution to 30 underprivileged families. The Team also handed over sports items to the school such as carom boards, volleyball, throw ball, cricket kits. Certificates, medals and championship cups for annual day competition winners were also handed over to the school for distribution. The contestants had also raised the money for the cause. Wherein in other Beauty Pageants the winners launch their community service after the pageant finals
Addressing the media persons during a press meet held at Mangalore Press Club, Ms Lyvia D Almeida – “Mrs Mangaluru” Winner said, ” The Grooming sessions were held on Dec 21 and 22 at the Maya International Hotel. On the day 1 – Dec 21st, the following rounds were held at Maya International Hotel. Introduction round, Mangalore toastmasters contest, Formation rehearsals, Valpadi charity program, Pool shoot and the fitness round. Introduction round was taken care by Ms. Jasmine Nair. Rehearsals were taken care by fashion choreographer Sarita V S and Vardhan Pai, Toastmasters club contest was judged by Toastmaster Judges”
Amanda Lasrado – “Miss Mangaluru ” Winner also speaking on the occasion said, ” Pool shoot was done at Pandit Health resort by the celebrity photographer Dheeraj Dhixit and Sarvesh Naik followed by the fitness session. The contestants were taken through different rounds to judge their fitness. The fitness session was handled by Vikas Puthran and Maithri Malli. Dec 22, Day 2 grooming started with makeup session by Vanya’s Bridal Studio – Ms Vinaya Dsouza wherein the demo of makeup was given and she explained the basic dos and don’ts to be followed. Talent round was hosted by Josmita D’souza wherein all contestants did their best. Contestants makeup, nail grooming and Hair/skin session was handled by Styling Partner – Lakme Academy, wherein they have given their best to make the contestants look and feel beautiful. Lakme also distributed winner’s baskets, which included Lakme beauty products. VLCC announced 10,000 worth service vouchers for winners. Non-winners of season 1 will get a chance to participate for free in season 2″
Tejaswini Shetty – “Mrs Mangaluru” 1st Runner up said, ” Dec 23, Grand Finale was divided into three sequence- Ethnic wear round by Designer Gunjan Jaiswal; Creative eco-friendly round by contestant themselves; and Evening Gown round by Designer Mohan Gowda. After the sequence completion, top six from each category were called on the stage for question answer round. The six finalists in Miss Mangaluru category were- Amanda Lasrado, Raksha Rao, Ashwini Poojary, Nishitha Fernandes, Prajnya DS & Sushmitha Acharya; and in Mrs. Mangaluru Category were – Tejaswini Shetty, Smitha Damodar, Lyvia D’almeida, Veena D’souza, Anitha Soans & Deepa Muddapur”
