Our aim is to win all 5 seats in Assembly Elections – Vishwas Amin

Udupi: “Our aim is to win all the 5 assembly seats in the district during the next assembly elections”, said Vishwas Amin, the newly elected President of Youth Congress.

He was speaking at a press meet held at the Congress Bhavan on Saturday, May 20. He said that as per the instructions of the Indian National Congress Vice president Rahul Gandhi, the internal elections of the Youth congress have successfully completed in all the districts. In Udupi district, the election process was completed peacefully. A total of 12000 members have registered their names for the youth congress primary membership in the district. 2600 members had voting rights in the youth congress elections. Out of them, 1200 members had cast their votes.

The celebrations have completed and now we are all one. We are now working together to strengthen the party from booth level. Our aim now is to win the next assembly elections, we will all work together for the Congress candidates in all the five legislative assembly constituencies in coming elections. We will have 100 youth workers in each booth level and will train them. Youth Congress will organise leadership training programmes for the booth level workers at the Rajeev Gandhi Training institute, Kaup in coming days. The district youth congress will work for communal harmony in the district, he added.

The official installation ceremony of the District youth congress will be held at the Udupi Town Hall after announcing the State Youth Congress President. The 17 youth congress posts which are vacant will be filled within 15 days, he said.

General Secretaries: Vighnesh Kini, Baiju Daiwasya, Prashanth Poojary, Mohammed Imran M H, Ramesh Shetty, Nithin Poojary and Sharif.

Constituency youth congress presidents are:

Prashanth Poojary (Udupi Legislative Assembly constituency), Shekar Poojary ( Byndoor Legislative Assembly constituency), Icchithartha Shetty (Kundapur Legislative Assembly constituency), Melwin D’Souza (Kaup Legislative Assembly constituency), Deepak Kotian (Kakala Legislative Assembly constituency).

Vighnesh Kini, Baiju Daiwasya, Ramesh Shetty, Sharif, Melwin D’Souza, Icchithartha Shetty, Shekar Poojary and others were present at the press meet.
