Panambur Police Arrest Man in 19-year-old Youth Murder Case

Mangalore: The Panambur police have arrested 50-year-old Dharmaraj Suvarna in connection with the murder of 19-year-old Muttu Basavaraj Vaddar alias Mudukappa, a native of Bagalkot.

The incident occurred on September 21, 2024, near Bobbarya Temple in Thota Bengre. The accused, a fisherman and resident of Thota Bengre, allegedly killed Mudukappa with a wooden stick following a dispute over a mobile phone.

The police investigation, led by Inspector Mohammed Saleem Abbas, revealed that the suspect and victim were acquaintances. The dispute arose when Mudukappa took Dharmaraj’s new mobile phone and damaged it without returning it.

The arrest was made possible under the guidance of Police Commissioner Anupam Agrawal, IPS, and Deputy Commissioners Siddarth Goel, IPS, and B.P. Dinesh Kumar, IPS.
