Pandeshwar Police Arrest Six Youth in Robbery Case

Mangaluru: On June 5, at around 8:45 pm, a group of 6 youth robbed a man near Somnath Temple, Goodshed road. In this connection, a case was registered in the Pandeshwar police station.

According to the police, Gunaprasad was on his way back to State Bank after visiting Somnath Temple when the incident took place. When he was walking on the Goodshed road, 3 youth arrived on a bike and stopped the vehicle in front of him. Simultaneously, three other youth also joined the group. The six caught hold of Gunaprasad, and forcibly took him near the Railway tracks, where they assaulted him. Later, all the six robbed Gunaprasad of his belongings and fled from the spot. They took a camera, a gold chain, a mobile, an ATM card and a purse all worth Rs 131,500. The Pandeshwar police formed a team to nab the culprits. On June 8, all the six were arrested near the KSRTC bus stand.

The arrested have been identified as Sarfuddin (19), a resident of Mission street, Bunder; Mohammed Ramlan (20), from Faisal Nagar; Sheik Mohammed Safan (19), from Krishnapur; Mohammed Arif Faisal (19), Krishnapur; Salman Haris (19) from Kallapu and Sayed Nimar Hashmi (19), a resident of Falnir.  Police also recovered a scooter worth Rs 50,000, camera worth Rs 70,000, gold chain worth Rs 48,000, mobile worth Rs 12,000 and three debit cards along with the purse from their possession.

The operation was carried out under the able guidance of DCP Law and Order K M Shantharaju, DCP Crime and Traffic Dr Sanjeev Patil and ACP Mangaluru South R R Kalyan Shetty, the Pandeshwar police inspector Incharge Shantharam, PSI Ananth Murdeshwar, PSI Mohammed Sheriff, ASI Gawar, U R D’Souza, Vishwanath, Gangadhar, Dhananjay Gowda, Satyanarayan, Shekhar Gatti, Purushotham, Nutan Kumar, Bhimappa, Gopal Krishna, Sashikumar, Vinod and Chandrashekar. The police commissioner commended the team for their swift action in nabbing the culprits.

Police arrest ‘six youth’. Yes – ‘six youth’ perfectly describes ‘sarfuddin, mohammed, second mohammed, third mohammed, salmaan and sayyad’!!!!

On the other hand, if these were ramesha-ganesha-suresha, it is very important to point out any links they may have with local sanaathana groups, RSS or BJP.
