‘Parisara Jagrathi’- a Street Play by the Students of St Aloysius P U College
Mangaluruy: Street plays are a wonderful platform to connect with the people and that is what inspired the students of St Aloysius PU College to perform a street play, to get connected with people.
The students chose the two busiest places of Mangaluru- Kankanady and State Bank bus stops, which are always filled with the hustle and bustle of life. Amidst the honking of buses, hurried pedestrians and frugal vendors, our gallant students conveyed an important message to the people of Mangaluru on the topic ‘Parisara Jagrathi’ on 28 of November 2019.They performed scenes that depicted the general attitude of the public towards the cleanliness and how plastic can cause damage to the environment.
The students then addressed the public and persuaded them to be responsible in protecting the environment. They also educated on the alternatives of plastic, segregation of waste, proper disposal of waste and so on. This unique exposure enlightened our students on self-reliance and teamwork. This also helped in grooming the students as socially responsible citizens and when they become adults, they will be able to connect with the people easily. The public participated with a lot of curiosity and excitement.
