The injured has been identified as Nagesh aged 40 years. According to the police, on April 12, during the lockdown, an Auto was found making rounds unnecessarily in Peenya. The auto was stopped and seized by the police.
While PC Nagesh was riding the seized auto to Peenya Station, the auto was involved in an accident and Nagesh was severely injured.
Peenya police reached the spot and rushed Nagesh to a private hospital in Peenya and his condition is said to be critical. The Peenya police are investigating the case.
During this critical time, the police are working hard putting their life at risk. The government has announced the lockdown and restricted vehicular movement but some people without following the government orders are putting their life as well as the lives of other citizens at risk. The government should also think about the safety of the police personnel and take all the necessary measures to protect them.
