Pejawar seer to take delegation to Modi on Ram temple in Ayodhya

Bengaluru: Vishwesha Teertha Swami of Pejawar Mutt on Sunday said that he will take a delegation to impress upon Prime Minister Narendra Modi to promulgate an ordinance to pave way for the construction of Ram Temple at Ayodhya.

Participating in the “Janagraha” rally in Bengaluru organised by the Vishwa Hindu Parishat on Sunday to build pressure on the Centre, the seer said, “I do not know why the legislation is still not in place. But we will have a discussion with the prime minister soon,” he said.

Addressing the convention, VHP national general secretary Milind Parande claimed that the Hindus were losing patience over the “inordinate delay” in disposal of the Ayodhya land dispute case pending in the Supreme Court. “Hindus have waited for centuries for the building of the Ram temple at Ayodhya, but the court has postponed the case. We respect the institution, but that does not mean we can eternally wait for justice. The majority community is losing patience,” he said. Parande urged the Centre to promulgate an ordinance to allow the construction of Ram temple at Ayodhya.

The rally, held at National College Grounds on November 25, was postponed following the demise of actor-turned-politician M H Ambareesh. People from Mysuru, Mandya, Kolar and Hassan, besides Bengaluru, participated in the convention.

Prior to the rally, the VHP members took out processions from different parts of Bengaluru. A 17-foot-tall idol of Lord Rama was taken in a procession from J C Nagar to the National College Grounds, passing through Mehkri Circle, Guttahalli, Chalukya Circle, Corporation Circle, and Lalbagh.
