Pejawar Swamiji inaugurates Samskrita Bharati’s ‘Parampara’ exhibition

Udupi: As a part of the All India Convention of Samskrita Bharati “Parampara” – A unique exhibition depicting Indian Knowledge and Heritage treasures in Samskrit was inaugurated at the parking area of Sri Krishna Math here on Thursday, January 5.

Sri Vishwesha Thirtha Swamiji of Pejawar Math inaugurated “Parampara” by lighting the lamp and wished all success for the exhibition.

ISRO, NAMAMI (National Manuscript Mission) and many other noted Samskrit, Yoga and Ayurvedic Institutions participated in the exhibition.  Samskrita Bharati in its own pavilion showcasing the themes “Samskrita Bharatam – Samartha Bharatam”, “Pride of India” and “Science in Samskrit” will be the special attraction of the exhibition. More than 350 books and DVD’s published by Samskrita Bharati are exhibited and are available for sale. Books to help learn simple Samskrit for the common public are available and will be another major attraction of the exhibition.

Work on Samskrit being done all over the world by noted institutions like St James Independent School, UK; Abraham Lincoln School, USA and similar other foreign institutions was also displayed.

Sri Vishwa Prasanna Thirtha Junior Swamiji of the Paryaya Pejawar Math, RSS Udupi leader Shambu Shetty, VHP leader M B Puranik, Surprasad Shetty and others were present.

The All India Convention of Samskrita Bharati will be held from 6th to 8th January at the Sri Krishna Math, Udupi. About 2000 volunteers of Samskrita Bharati, Samskrit Scholars, Vice-Chancellors of various Samskrit Universities, Educationalists etc., representing every state and more than 500 districts in our country, will participate in this Convention.

“Samskrita Bharatam – Samartha Bharatam” is the theme around which the entire convention is being organised. The participants will share their inputs, discuss strategies, analyse issues, brainstorm and finalize the roadmap to expand the work of Samskrit so as to touch millions of lives in the next 10 years.

Sumitra Mahajan, Speaker of Lok Sabha will inaugurate the event while Pramod Madhwaraj, District In-charge Minister for Udupi District and Shobha Karandlaje, MP, Udupi-Chikkamagluru will be the Guest of Honour. Prakash Javadekar, Union Minister for HRD, will be the guest of honour and Kiran Kumar, Chairman of ISRO, will be the Chief Guest during the valedictory function.

Sri Vishwesha Thirtha Swamiji of Pejavar Math Udupi, Sri Nirmalanandanath Swamiji of Adichunchanagiri Math, Sri Chennasiddharama Panditharadhya Shivacharya Swamiji of Srishaila Peetam are some of the dignitaries who will grace the occasion. RSS Sahsarakaryavah Suresh Soni, RSS Sahsarakaryavah Dattatreya Hosabale, RSS Akhil Bharatiya Sah Bouddhik Pramukh Mukunda CR will also attend.

RSS Sahsarakaryavah Suresh Soni will be giving the main lecture on the topic “Samskrita Bharatam – Samartha Bharatam” on January 7.

Under the theme “Bharata Vaibhavam” – A mega cultural event in Samskrit like Yakshagana, Ballet, Skits and Mega-Dance drama by the renowned Celebrities and Alva’s Troupe have been organized during all the days of the programme.
