Pejwar Swamiji Meets PM Narendra Modi in New Delhi
Udupi: Sri Vishvesha Theertha Swamiji of Pejawar Math on Tuesday, July 16 met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi.
Accordingly, when the Swamiji was in New Delhi to participate in the Guru Poornima Programme at his disciple Uma Bharathi’s house, he showed interest to meet the prime minister and interacted with him for some time.
Expressing happiness over meeting the Pejawar Swamiji, Modi had tweeted, “A special day made even more special. On the blessed occasion of #GuruPoornima, had the honour of spending time with Sri Vishvesha Theertha Swamiji of the Sri Pejawar Math, Udupi. Learning from him and hearing his thoughts is a very humbling experience.”
The prime minister had invited the Swamiji to his office after the end of his Paryaya term.
The Swamiji in the past had informed media persons that if given a chance he would discuss with the prime minister the issues of the ban on cow slaughter, Ram Mandir and River Ganga rejuvenation programmes. There is no further information on what discussions were carried out during the visit.
The Swamiji presented the traditional Prabhavali of Devara Utsava Murthy to the prime minister on the occasion.
