Havana, May 29 (IANS) Brazilian football legend Pele will arrive here on Sunday on his first visit to Cuba.
Pele is travelling as part of the US team New York Cosmos which is set to play a friendly against Cuba’s national team, reports Xinhua.
Cosmos invested large sums of money starting in 1975 to sign some of the world’s most talented players, including Pele, Germany’s Franz Beckenbauer and Dutch Johan Neeskens. Pele retired in 1977 but serves as the club’s honorary president.
