People have Answered for ‘GoBack Shobha campaign’ with Huge Margin – Shobha Karandlaje
Udupi: After the victory of Udupi – Chikkamagaluru LS candidate Shobha Karandlaje, BJP workers and supporters celebrated in Udupi City holding Vijyothsava.
Later Shobha Karandlaje was taken in an open vehicle in a procession across the City with a bike rally. BJP workers were seen distributing sweets, shouting slogans “Phir Ek Bar Modi Sarkar” and dancing to the beat of drums.
Kota Srinivas Poojary leader of the opposition in the legislative council, MLA’s Raghupathi Bhat and Sunil Kumar, BJP leaders Yashpal Suvarna and others were present.
Speaking to media persons Shobha attributed hir victory to the hard work put in by BJP cadres, the strong wave that prevailed in the constituency in favour of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the development works initiated in the constituency during her last tenure. The results of the Lok Sabha parliamentary elections in Karnataka showed that people have rejected the Congress-Janata Dal (Secular) coalition government.
The fall of the coalition government was imminent as citizens had rejected the government’s “anti-farmer and anti-people” policies.
Claiming that the BJP would not entice MLAs from either Congress or JD(S), she said: “But if the MLAs from these two parties resign on their own and join the BJP, we will welcome them.”
The BJP would win over 22 seats in the State. “We are happy that Karnataka has given the best performance for the BJP in South India. This is way beyond the expectations of the party high command,” she added.
When asked about “Go Back Shobha campaign” and that some people from inside the party had tried to get the ticket by creating the campaign. Shobha Karandlaje said, “Today the people of Udupi-Chikkamagaluru have given the right answer to those who had organized the campaign by the highest margin of votes. I will not take any revenge against them, my motto is only development of my LS constituency and I will do that”, she said.
