Permission Denied for Mangaluru Chalo to Maintain Law and Order Situation – Ramanath Rai

Mangaluru: “Dakshina Kannada district is a very communal sensitive district and we have witnessed a number of incidents of communal violence. The police should take care of protesters from other districts coming here on bikes. Since the bikers come via road there may be chances for violence. So the police department has denied permission for the Mangaluru Chalo bike rally. If any untoward incidents take place, the organizers will blame the government so, in order to maintain the law and order situation, the government has denied permission to hold the bike rally”, said the District Minister In-charge Ramanath Rai speaking to mediapersons at the Town hall premises here on September 5.

Addressing the mediapersons Ramanath Rai said, “The BJP is issuing statements saying that the Sangh Parivar members have been killed. But if we make a list of the killings, along with Hindu youth, many youth from the minority community have also been killed. We are organizing a harmony march and people from all walks of life will take part. Those who are involved in the killings will not be included. If the bike rally comes to Mangaluru violating the law, we will take action against them.”

Addressing the mediapersons Minister U T Khader said, “It is the duty of the police department to maintain the law and order situation in the district. We should all work together to maintain harmony and brotherhood. We need peace in DK,  we will not give any chance to create communal disturbance in DK. If we give permission to the rally and any untoward incident takes place, the organizers will blame us. They also blame us for denying permission. The government will arrest all the accused behind Sharath and Ashraf murder case.”

U T Khader further said, “The BJP government led by Modi is in power why don’t they ban KFD and PFI? When we had contested the elections, BJP was fielded SDPI leaders to defeat. For political gain, the BJP used the PFI and SDPI leaders. We are ready for any sacrifice to maintain the law and order situation in Dakshina Kannada”.
