Udupi SP Nisha James to continue Phone-in Programme every Friday
Udupi: The New Udupi district superintendent of Police Nisha James will be conducting the weekly Phone-in programme to hear the grievances of the people from 10:00 am to 11:00 am from Friday, March 1.
People having grievances on traffic movement, the sale of cannabis and other problems affecting them can be raised during the meeting. The public are also free to provide details about their petitions, cases etc. People can also express their appreciation about the functioning of the police personnel in their area, or point out mistakes if any in the discharge of their duties. The identities of callers will be kept strictly confidential. People can call 0820-2531777.
The phone-in programme was the brainchild of former SP Sajeev Patil. After Patil’s tenure, SP Laxman Nimbargi continued the Phone-in programme which was hailed by the general public. He was impressed with the programme wherein people called to inform him of various issues that were affecting them. The present SP has also decided to continue the Phone-in every Friday of the week.
