Moodbidri: The marriage between a bride from Sacheripet Paladka and groom from Mantradi took place in the church in Shirtadi on Wednesday.
Thereafter, the wedding reception was held in Brahma Residency hall in Shirtadi. When the invitees lined up to greet the newlyweds, the couple suddenly happened to go centre of the hall to dance, which left the people in the queue waiting.
Being frustrated and annoyed, Vincent from Mundkur, who was one of the invitees, got the impression that Harish, a photographer who was clicking the shots, had asked the couple to dance. He picked up an argument with him and assaulted the photographer.
Harish was injured and admitted to the government hospital in Moodbidri. Vincent is said to have gone missing after the assault. The Moodbidri police have registered a case.
The Moodbidri zone unit of South Kanara Photographers’ Association has condemned the incident.
