Pilikula Biological Park Closed for Visitors from July 4 to 31
Mangaluru: “Due to the rapid increase of the spread of Coronavirus in the district, the authorities have decided to close the Pilikula Biological Park for visitors from July 4 to July 31”, said the director of Pilikula Biological Park Jayaprakash Bhandary on July 2.
Speaking to mangalorean.com Bhandary said, “We have kept the Zoo open for visitors, but very few people visit the park. Most of the people are afraid of the coronavirus and avoid visiting the park or the Zoo. Bus service to Pilikula is also limited as there are only a few visitors.”
Bhandary further said, “At present, we have more than 100 staff at Pilikula and over 30 caretakers at the Zoo. Only essential staff is asked to come for work to take care of the animals in the Zoo. Pilikula will be closed for a month from Saturday, July 4, and will reopen on August 1.”
