Mangaluru: If Apple, San Francisco-USA made iPhone, Ideal Ice Cream, Kudla-India has made iPizza? Yes, we have iPhone, iPad, iPod etc- and now in Kudla, we have iPizza aka Ice-Cream Pizza by renowned Ideal Ice-Cream. No doubt that iPizza will surely be going to melt into warm hearts of Mangaloreans. Is it an ice-cream? Is it a pizza? No, it’s iPizza aka ice-cream pizza that is set to give the gastronomically minded citizens of “Smart City- Mangaluru” a chance to dig into ice-cream that mimics a pizza. Coming from stables of Ideal Ice-Creams, city’s leading ice-cream unit, iPizza is officially entered into two-day Great Indian Ice-Cream and Frozen Dessert Contest organized by DuPont in association with Indian Dairy Association at Gurugram (Gurgaon) from November 15, 2017

Mukund Kamath -the Managing Director of Ideal Ice-Cream, who recently has been the creator of “Bella Candy (Jaggery candy), “Swizzilla” ( a combination of Swiss Chocolate and Creamy Vanilla), “Panak Candy”, and other Ice Cream favorites, speaking to Team Mangalorean few minutes before boarding the plane from Mangaluru to Delhi this morning (15 November), who was on his way to the contest in Gurugram aka Gurgaon said, ” This iPizza is the result of nearly 60 days of research and development by me. iPizza is built on a cake base with caramel sauce on it. A crust of ice-cream with almond pieces is laid over the base and this is fully covered with a marzipan sheet. White chocolate in gently squeezed in a zig-zag manner to give the appearance of cheese that one sees on a pizza and this is topped with jelly and dates that gives one the impression of pizza toppings.”

He further said, “Plans are also afoot to give the connoisseurs of ice-cream the chance to dig into just one piece of iPizza on lines of its other much sought after ice-cream – cassata. We are in the process of sourcing the right container to market it in a single piece so that customers who do not want to buy the box can relish it individually. iPizza is our entry in the kool kids category at the Gurugram contest that has also five other award categories to boot.”
