Planning to Loot Jeweller, 11 Members of Inter-state Gang Arrested
Mangaluru: The South Sub Division Anti-rowdy Squad arrested an interstate gang involved in planning to loot a Jeweller, at Mangaluru Hills road Pacchanadi here on November 13.
The arrested have been identified as Shiekh Mohammed Ansar alias Ansar (34), Rameez alias Rameez K C Road (21), Mohammed Tousif alias Thachu (24), Mohammed Tousif alias Tousif (25), Ubaidulla (25), Mohammed Ali (25), Ahamed Kabeer (30), Asgar Ali alias Asgar alias Achu (27), Sabith (19) Mohammed Sabad alias Savad (22) and Ameer Ali alias Ameer (19).
According to the police, after getting reliable information that some youth had gathered near Mangaluru Hills at Pacchanadi and plotting to commit a crime. The South Division Anti-rowdy squad got into action and took all the 11 accused into custody.
The police seized a Maruti 800, Maruti Ritz car, a knife, iron rods, wooden club, four duplicate number plates, and cash Rs 16,050 all worth Rs 3,66,050 from their procession.
During intorrogation, the accused revealed that they were plotting to commit a crime at the Vaishnavi Jewellery shop. Police are looking out for four more persons who are also involved in the crime.
All the accused are involved in various crimes and cases have been registered against them in Karnataka and Kerala state.
It is recalled that 20 days ago another team had looted huge amount of money belonging to Vaishnavi Jewellery shop owner Santhosh.
