Dear Parents and Well-wishers,

  • It is so sad to see a child suffering from Blood Cancer and even more when the family cannot afford medical treatment. I write to convey that one such Cancer patient is a student of our school (St. Joseph’s English Medium School, Bajal, Mangalore) studying in Std II. The family is helpless and in urgent need of financial assistance. At this time of Pandemic, we would like to extend our support for Thanish’s medical expenses through our well-wishers, benefactors, Parents of our students and friends. May I request you to kindly contribute whatever little is possible to keep the treatment of Cancer going. The rest we shall leave it to God for the restoration of Thanish’s health. May God Bless the hands that give. Kindly pray for this child and if possible kindly contribute your mite, it will be a great help for the family to meet the medical expenses. You may send your contribution directly with a short message to us. Thank you and God bless you all. Stay safe”- Headmistress St. Joseph’s English Medium School Bajal-Mangaluru.

Mangaluru: Mangaloreans have been generous during the Covid-19 pandemic, when many people were out of jobs or were homeless due to lockdown, by helping such folks with food, water, ration kits and other essentials. Mangaloreans in the past have also been generous in contributing towards the medical expenses of those patients who were not able to pay for the medical bills. And here we have a young boy studying in IInd standard at St Joseph’s English Medium School, Bajal, Mangaluru, needing financial support to pay for his Medical Treatment, since he is suffering from BLOOD CANCER.

We should know that giving is something done voluntarily. Giving should not be done under compulsion, coercion, duress, or conviction. There are some exceptions, of course. When you do give, you are to give what you have chosen in your heart. Those who take pity on those who are facing hardship than us are true neighbours and care-givers.. The joy of being able to bless and give someone you care, and to make them smile, is priceless. The satisfaction that comes from making a difference in the lives of others cannot be overstated. Knowing that you have helped make someone else’s life a little brighter and better is a special feeling and one that will last with you for a long time. And in our world of plenty, we can spread a smile of joy.

So if you are looking for a way to enhance your act of sharing and giving experience, try giving back now from part of your wealth. Let’s give to the parents of this young boy who is in desperate need of financial help to pay for his medical expenses and make a difference in his life. Let me end with a thought-provoking quote of Saint Mother Teresa-

“If you judge people, you have no time to love them. Not all of us can do great things. But we can do small things with great love. If we have no peace, it is because we have forgotten that we belong to each other. It’s not how much we give but how much love we put into giving. At the end of life, we will not be judged by how many diplomas we have received, how much money we have made, how many great things we have done. We will be judged by “I was hungry, and you gave me something to eat, I was naked and you clothed me. I was homeless, and you took me in. I was without money, you provided financial help”. I can do things you cannot, you can do things I cannot; together we can do great things. A life not lived for others is not a life. Do not wait for leaders; do it alone, person to person. Yesterday is gone. Tomorrow has not yet come. We have only today. Let us begin.”
