Police and Military Personnel Conduct Route March ahead Of LS Polls in Udupi
Udupi: In a bid to ensure confidence among the voters the police along with ITBP (Indo-Tibetan Border Police personnel) took out a route march in various localities in the city on Monday, April 15.
As the Udupi district goes for Assembly polls on April 18, such route marches are conducted to assure the citizens of free and fair polls.
About 100 Indo-Tibetan Border Police personnel, along with KSRP, DAR and Civil Police led by Nisha James Superintendent of Police Udupi district, Kumarchandra ASP Udupi, Jai Shanker DySP Udupi, Manjunath CPI Udupi, Sampath Kumar PSI women station, Anand Kumar RPI and Sunil Kumar PSI Udupi participated.
The route march which began from Jodukatte passed through Big Bazar, old Taluk Office, Daina Circle, K M Marg, Triveni Circle, Service Bus stand, Kidiyoor Hotel, City Bus-stand, Kalasanka and culminated at the MGM College Indrali.
Speaking to Mangalorean.com DySP Jaishanker said, “The idea is to enhance the confidence level of voters so that they can come out and cast their votes without any fear. We will also conduct route march in Kundpaur, M Kodi, Kandlur, Hebri, Padubidri, Kaup and Karkala in the coming two days.
