Police Arrest Two Prime Accused in Law Student’s Kidnap Case
Udupi: The district police on September 4 succeeded in arresting two of the prime accused in the law college student’s kidnap case.
The arrested have been identified as Kavan and Vivek G Suvarna. Both the accused were arrested in Kadekar on Monday, September 4.
Vijay Kumar Shetty (32), a student of Vaikunta Baliga College of Law, was kidnapped from his room at Paniyadi by a gang in two cars on August 31. Shetty had some financial dealings with the accused who had kidnapped him. Shetty had used their money in some business in Belagavi. Shetty was a resident of Belagavi from 2004 to 2014 and had incurred heavy losses in financial dealings. The accused had also filed cases of cheque bounce against him in Belagavi. The accused had kidnapped Shetty and assaulted him. The Town police managed to trace him near Katapadi and rescued him on the same day of the kidnap.
Vijay Kumar Shetty a native of Kavadi village near Kota in Udupi district, had joined the law course at the Vaikunta Baliga College of Law, three years ago.
