Police Commissioner Announces Traffic Diversions due to Road Work In & Around Mangaluru
Mangaluru: Whenever a major road or drainage work is undertaken by Mangaluru city Corporation or Mangaluru Smart City Limited , it puts the motorists and even the pedestrians in hardship- and in order to make the citizens aware of the various road closure to facilitate road works, Mangaluru Police Commissioner Vikash Kumar Vikash has made announcement regarding the roads that are banned for the movement of vehicles on a few stretches to facilitate the work on the ongoing underground drainage work.
The Commissioner said that the movement of vehicles on Hotel Ocean Pearl (near navabharath Circle) -Sharada Vidyalaya stretch is banned till 30 October and vehicles will have to move on the PVS Circle- Besant College stretch. And when the work is taken up on PVS Kalakunja Road from 31 October onwards, vehicles can take route between Sharada Vidyalaya (school) and Besant College. The residents have to use the road joining Venkataramana Temple in Dongerekeri.
Now, moving on to the outskirts of Mangaluru- the movement of vehicles between Govindadasa College and Surathkal Junction is banned till 31 October to facilitate the work of laying pipes for the UGD network. Vehicles coming from the Surathkal Junction to Govindadas College should move on the National Highway. Those coming from the College towards the Junction and to Chokkabettu have to use the road connecting Sacred Heart Church and Surathkal Market, said Police Commissioner’s notification. . The movement of vehicles from Surathkal Market to Govindadas College has also been banned.
