Police Commissioner Chandra Sekhar Transferred as IGP to CID and EO Bengaluru
Mangaluru: The Police Commissioner of Mangaluru City Commissionerate Chandra Sekhar has been transferred as IGP to CID and Economic offenses Bengaluru, on May 25.
Chandra Sekhar joined the Mangaluru Police commissionerate as commissioner of police on January 3, 2016.
M Chandra Sekhar is a 1998 batch IPS officer, initially, he was posted to Himachal Pradesh and served as ASP of Shimla, ADC to the governor of Himachal Pradesh, worked as an SP of Vilaspur, SP of Mandi District Himachal Pradesh, was Later deputed in Karnataka State where he Worked as SP of Internal Security Division for 3 months. Worked as a Deputy commissioner of Police East Division of Bengaluru city from 2009 to 2012, from 2013 to 2014 worked as Deputy Inspector General of Police Karnataka State Fire & Emergency Services. From 2014-15 worked as Joint Commissioner of Police (Crime).
Chandra Sekhar has been transferred as IGP to CID and Economic Offences Wing Bengaluru.
During his tenure in Mangaluru, as police commissioner, Chandra Sekhar has worked with dedication and transparency bringing many changes in the police department. He initiated the phone-in programme to listen to the grievances of the people of the Mangaluru commissionerate and solved many problems. His tenure has witnessed friendly policing giving justice to the victims. Mangaluru commissionerate will lose an able officer who was down to earth and friendly in nature and was ever ready to help the citizens with his friendly policing.
