Police Commissioner Chandra Sekhar Visits Rural Police Station in Vamanjoor
Mangaluru: The Commissioner of Police Chandra Sekhar visited the Mangaluru Rural police station at Vamanjoor which has been shifted from Maroli, here on May 31.
The police inspector of Mangaluru Rural Police Station Mohammed Sherif welcomed the gathering.
Addressing the gathering Police Commissioner Chandra Sekhar said, “It was my aim during my tenure to construct a new police station for Mangaluru Rural, but it was not possible due to some reasons in getting land and permission from the government. Today I am very happy that the police station has been shifted from Maroli and we have moved to a rented place in Vamanjoor. When police work in any station, the station should have all the basic facilities. Even though the previous police station was not in a good condition, the police were performing their duties well”.
Chandra Sekhar further said, “I would like to thank ACP Shruthi and police inspector Mohammed Sheriff of the Rural station for their efforts in finding a suitable building. It is the duty of the senior police officers to provide all basic facilities to the police personnel in every police station. The DCP was also insisting me to shift the police station to some other building because the building posed danger and there was a lot of water leakage during the rainy season but all the staff of the Rural police station adjusted to the situation and worked with dedication. I must congratulate all the police personnel for their patience and commitment. I also request the police not to create any problems for the building owners. They have given us the building to carry out our work. We have already identified two places, in the near future we will surely construct a police station.”
Chandra Sekhar also said, “In Vamanjoor area, some disturbing incidents have taken place in the past. Being a sensitive area, the station in the right place. It is your duty to see that such incidents do not take place. Do your duties well and take necessary action against the trouble mongers. Do not afraid to take action when necessary, nothing will go wrong if you use minimum force to control any situation. If you work hard and perform your duties well, you will be respected. If you are righteous you will progress. When you perform your work with transparency you will be remembered.”
Police Commissioner Chandra Sekhar handed over a cheque of Rs 20,000 to the Police Inspector of Mangaluru Rural Station Mohammed Sherif on the occasion. Parish Priest of St Joseph the Worker Church, Cyprian Pinto and Stany Alvares also spoke on the occasion.
DCP Law and Order Shantharaju, DCP Dr Sanjeev Patil, ACP Shruti and others were also present.
