Police Commissioner Dr Harsha Inaugurates Navaratri Utsav at Kudroli
Mangaluru: The auspicious Navaratri Utsav was inaugurated at Shree Gokarnanatha Kshetra, Kudroli here on September 29.
Prior to the installation of Goddess Sharada, a Puja was held and the Goddess was taken in a procession around the temple. Police commissioner Dr Harsha inaugurated the Navaratri Utsav at the Kudroli temple by lighting the traditional lamp along with other dignitaries.
After the inauguration speaking to the mediapersons Dr Harsha said, “Dasara is a festival of the state of Karnataka. In Dakshina Kannada district, Navaratri Utsava is celebrated with grandeur. People have gathered at the Kudroli temple in large numbers with devotion and discipline to celebrate the festival. Goddess Chamundeshwari amalgamated the power for the sake of protecting the good and destroying the wicked. Let this Navaratri bring joy and happiness to all the people of Dakshina Kannada. I wish all the people of Dakshina Kannada very happy and joyous Navaratri celebrations”.
Dr Harsha further said, “We have held meetings with the organizers about the arrangements and have taken necessary measures to maintain the law and order situation throughout the Navaratri Utsav. Let us celebrate the festival as per our customs and traditions and understand the spirit of the festival”.
A one-year-old Ishaan wearing tiger costume was the center of attraction during tiger dance. Many captured the photograph of the baby tiger in their mobiles.
Malathi Janardhan Poojary, H S Sairam, Padmaraj R, B K Taranath, Ravishanker Mijar and others were also present.
