Police Commissioner Dr Harsha rewards Five Staff for Arresting Stone Pelters

Mangaluru: Police Commissioner Dr Harsha issued appreciation letters to five police constables including three Head Constables on September 6.

Head Constables Prashanth Shetty, Jayanand and Vishwanath, Police Constables Raghavendra and Anand from Mangaluru East Police station have done a commendable job by arresting the stone pelters and also for rescuing a resident during the landslide. In appreciation for the job well done, they were issued appreciation letters by Police Commissioner Dr Harsha.

On September 3, the Congress party had called for a state-level protest against the Arrest of D K Shivakumar by Enforcement Directorate. Miscreants taking advantage of the protest had pelted stones at buses in Falnir, Nandigudda and other places.

As the Mangaluru East police were closely monitoring the activities, they succeeded in arresting two youth who were involved in pelting stones on the bus and damaging them.

On September 6, the Mangaluru East Police under the able leadership of Police Inspector Shantharam Kundar arrested Abul Mannan and Mahin Abdul.

Appreciating and rewarding for the good work done will surely inspire others to work with integrity and dedication. The rejuvenated beat system by Police commissioner Dr Harsha has also been very effective in suppressing crime in the police commissionerate.

Mangalorean.com Salutes the Mangaluru police and hopes the good work will continue to make Mangaluru a better place to live in.
