Police Commissioner Issues Prohibitory Order in City
Mangaluru: Police Commissioner T.R. Suresh has issued an order prohibiting protest rallies, victory processions, public meetings and other demonstrations in the city on Thursday in view of the 26th year of the Babri Masjid demolition.
The order will be in force between 6 a.m. and midnight. In the order issued on Wednesday under Section 35 of the Karnataka Police Act, T R Suresh said that there will be a ban on holding jathas, blocking roads and picketing.
The prohibitory order will be applicable only to areas coming under the Mangaluru Police Commissionerate, the order said.
