Police Commissioner Prohibits Public Outdoor Programmes by PFI and its allied organizations from Feb 16 to 25
Mangaluru: The Popular Front of India in its press note had mentioned that they will hold a unity march and a public programme in Ullal on February 17. It has been observed that similar programmes held in Udupi in 2014 and Shivamogga in 2015 had resulted in major Law and order problems.
Keeping the above in mind the PFI has been informed of the possible law and order problems arising out of such programmes. The explanation given by the PFI in this regard was found to be unsatisfactory.
Taking into account the prevailing situation, The Additional District Magistrate and The Commissioner of Police, Mangaluru City has prohibited all outdoor public programmes by the PFI and its allied organizations from February 16, at 18-00 hrs to February 25 at 12-00 hrs in the jurisdiction of Mangaluru City Police Commissionarate u/s 144 of CrPC.
