Police Commissioner Sandeep Patil Raids District Prison, 6 Mobiles and Knives Seized
Mangaluru: The Police Commissioner along with jail authorities conducted a raid of the district prison at Kodialbail here, on February 24.
Police commissioner Sandeep Patil along with other police officials raided the jail premises.
Speaking to the mediapersons Police commissioner Sandeep Patil said, “The raid was carried out to search for weapons and reinforce the security of the premises. During the raid, we have seized Six mobile phones and four knives. We will check the call details of the seized phones and take appropriate action”.
Sandeep Patil further said, “The raid will continue and I will also write to the higher officials regarding the seizure of the mobile phones and knives. Many prisoners have been shifted from here to other jails because of various incidents. After this raid, if we find the need to shift more prisoners, we will do so”.
DCP Law & Order Hanumantharaya, DCP Crime and Traffic Uma Prashanth, ACP Ram Rao, ACP Manjunath, ACP Rajendra, Police Inspectors from various police stations and the jail superintendents participated in the raid.
