Police Commissionerate Bids Farewell to Outgoing DCP Dr Sanjeev Patil

Mangaluru: The outgoing police officer Dr Sanjeev Patil was given a warm farewell by the police department at Hotel Ocean Pearl here on June 6.

Police Inspector of Bunder Station Shantharam Kundar welcomed the gathering. ACP Mangaluru Central Uday Nayak spoke on the working style of DCP Dr Sanjeev Patil.

Dr Sanjeev Patil was felicitated by Police Commissioner Chandra Sekhar with a Shawl, memento, and floral bouquets.

In his felicitation speech, Dr Sanjeev Patil said, “After Police Commissioner, Chandra Sekhar came to the commissionerate we all become very alerted and gave up our afternoon nap. I really appreciate the Police Commissioner for his approach towards work which has changed our attitude towards our work. People started trusting us and came to us with their problems. Police Commissioner Chandra Sekhar has created such a system at the COP that the coming commissioner will continue the process. He likes to face challenges because he knows that a person can show his caliber in tough situations. He was studying the challenges in a depth. If I would not have worked with the Police commissioner I wouldn’t have known this dimension of the policing part for analyzing and tackling the problems.”

Dr Sanjeev further said, “I have worked with great officers starting with Manish Karbhikar, Seemanth Kumar Singh, Sonia Narang, Chetan Sir, Murugan and many officers but in my 11 years of service, I did not see a police officer who gave the highest reward to the police staff. I feel all the police stations who received rewards got the motivation to work. I always believe that great officers do great work and legends do simple things and Chandra Sekhar falls into the second category. We did not have contact with the good people but the Police Commissioner engaged them. The civil society people believed our commissioner, they had trust him and appreciated the work done by the commissioner. If we do not set our priority then we will have a tough time. If the police do any good work the media should be informed because people will start believing that you are doing a good job.”

Dr Sanjeev also said, “I certainly hope, in the days to come the work put up by the Managluru city police will be the greatest one. This two years has been the most satisfying tenure of my career. You all are the ambassadors of Karnataka Police because you are doing great work. Give importance to your family life too.”

Addressing the gathering Police Commissioner Chandra Sekhar said, “Sanjeev Patil has played a pivotal role in ensuring that everything goes well in the commissionerate. The good name and the good image the commissionerate has got in the last two years is because of the efforts of Dr Sanjeev Patil. He is a very creative person and leader of men. Whenever he used to see good work by the constable or inspector he ensures that I reward them. He is a great motivator and great person to work with. He is extremely loyal to the organisation. He is dedicated and has got laurels in every case and every challenge that he faced because of his hard work. I wish him all the success in his future endeavours.

ACP Panambur Rajendra S delivered the vote of thanks. DCP Law and order Shantharaju, ACP Shruti, ACP Valentine and all the police inspectors, sub-inspectors and other police officers were also present.
