Police delaying Probe in Chaitra’s Suicide Case – Billava Yuva Vedike
Udupi: Police are delaying the probe in Chaitra’s suicide case said Praveen M Poojary, President of Billava Yuva Vedike Udupi district.
He was speaking at a press meet held at the press club on Thursday October 13, he said that Chaitra’s lover Adarsh and his friend are responsible for Chaitra’s suicide.
Chaitra’s suicide leads to suspicion, Adarsh and his friend Pavan had provoked her into committing suicide, Chaitra’s father has filed the complaint against the accused but there are no signs of a fair probe into the case.
The District Superintendent of Police has assured of fair investigation into the case, the counsel in favor of accused has filed a petition seeking for bail. The police should investigate the case and file a petition for the rejection of bail. Chaitra was a minor; the police should consider this factor during the investigations. The accused had allegedly sexually abused Chaitra in the car, so the case should be probed under the POSCO Act and a fair investigation should be conducted.
Chandrashekar, Chaitra’s father said that Chaitra and Adarsh were in love, and the family had no objections to their marriage. The CCTV has recorded Chaitra going in Swift car on September 28. The call records are also needed to be examined.
