Police Dept has Arrested Innocent Hindu Activists in Husainabba case – Sharan Pumpwell
Udupi: Secretary of Vishwa Hindu Parishath Mangaluru region Sharan Pumpwell condemned the police department for “arresting innocent Hindu activists in cattle trader Husainabba’s death case”. He was speaking at a press meet held at the Press Club on Tuesday, June 5.
“Our activists gave information of cattle being transported illegally to the Hiriyadka police. As per the information of our activists, the Hiriyadka SI and his team got into action. Husainabba was suffering from heart problems and may have died due to a heart attack. The exact reason for his death would be known only after the post-mortem report. Hindu activists are in no way related to his death,” he added.
Pumpwell further said that the Udupi and Mangalore district administrations had failed to control the illegal cattle trade. “The main reason for such incidents is the theft and illegal slaughter of cattle. When the government fails to stop it, people and organisations have acted to protect their cattle. The government is directly responsible for the death of Husainabba. The government should bring tough laws into force against cow slaughter. To control illegal cattle trade, the police department should form a special team. Hindu organizations do not support violence and murder. But we are responsible for protecting the Hindu society,” he said.
BD Leader Sunil KR, Dinesh Hebri and others were also present.
