Police Dept, RTO and DC Directly Supported Bharat Bandh, They Should Clarify – MLA Vedavyas Kamath
Briefing on the incident at Jyothi circle, Vedavyas said, “Today morning I got a call that a woman was forcibly pulled down from an autorickshaw at Bunts hostel when she was going to the hospital. I felt bad because the Congress workers never allowed the woman to go to the hospital. I immediately reached near Jyothi but the Congress workers shouted slogans. I got down from the car and questioned the police, why they were not taking action against the protesters. Some of the Congress party workers went to KMC Hospital and shut down the canteen there which is condemnable. Why are the police showing double standards?. The RTO officers were also used by the Congress to stop the buses. The DC had also declared a holiday to schools and colleges. If they are really worried about the fuel price hike, let the state government cancel the CESS, the Central government is buying Petrol for Rs 40 and giving it to the state government for Rs 61, but the state government is adding Rs 21 tax and selling it for Rs 81. If the government is really worried about the people of the state, let them reduce Rs 10 and sell the petrol for Rs 71”.
The Congress party leaders, Police department, District administration and the RTO are directly responsible for the protest.
When asked about the protest held by the BJP during which the Jyothi circle was blocked from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm, Vedavyas said, “Whenever we have protested the police have arrested us immediately. But today more than 200 people blocked the Jyothi circle, the police commissioner and other police officers were silent. The police commissioner had asked me to leave when I was at the Jyothi circle. Instead of asking the Congress leaders to leave, the police were forcing me to leave the place. Now since the Lok Sabha elections are nearing, the Congress party leaders are trying to defame Modi so that they can come to power.”
BJP Leaders Ravi Shankar Mijar, Nitin Kumar, Roopa D Bangera, Diwakar, Ramesh Kandettu and Premanand were also present.
