Police Seize 1.633 kg of Smuggled Gold worth Rs 61.47 lakhs, 3 Arrested
Kundapur: The police team led by ASP Bhatkal and ASP Kundapur on Tuesday, December 17 seized 1.633 KG of smuggled gold and nabbed three persons.
The arrested have been identified as Mohammed Ismail, Raheef, Sayyad Ummer all residents of Bhatkal.
According to the police, the three accused were transporting the gold from Ernakulam to Bhatkal without any documents on the train. The Kundapur ASP Hariram Shanker and his team intercepted them at Byndoor railway station, the smuggled gold weighing 1.633 kilograms worth Rs 61.47 lakhs was recovered from them.
Under the direction of Nisha James SP of Udupi, the team lead by Hariram Shanker ASP Kundapur, Nikhil ASP Bhatkal along with Suresh Nayak CPI Byndoor, Manjunath CPI Udupi, Harish R Naik SI Kundapur and others took part in the arrest operation.
